Hello fellow runners, new and aged, welcome to my blog! My name is Jenny and I love to run! I come from the small town of McArthur, Ohio where we have one red light, a pizza shop on every corner, everyone knows who you are, and plenty of the outdoors to explore. My mother and my cousin have always been avid runners growing up, and this was a passion that extended to me as well.
I began running in middle school when I was 12 years old who dove right into the experience of it all. I started out as a sprinter in the 7th grade and remained one until I was throw into the chaos that is the mile (which was absolutely terrifying) randomly during my high school districts meet, where I missed placing for regionals by one place. It hurt and it felt like I couldn’t breathe when I was done, but it was a moment of clarity and accomplishment for myself. In that one moment, I had the realization that I could push myself to new limits without knowing had the strength to do so was Ever since that race, I became a long distance runner and I could not be any happier with the change of pace (no pun intended).
Running and being active has always been a part of my life and despite the love/hate relationship that comes with running and exercising in general, I wouldn’t change a thing nor could I be any happier that I began running. Running has allowed me to find ways to relieve stress and to get away from the world as well as find new strengths in myself that one may never have realized without running and being active. I hope that my own internal and external struggles can resonate with someone else who may be interested in running or who is new to engaging in new health situations, and may encourage someone to lace up their shoes and go.
